The term Almajiri is a hausa word which literally means Student.In most west African countries, especially places where hausa tribe has dominance- the culture of sending a child to Islamic Allo was so rampant.
This culture was practiced for decades till recent times. However, the almajiri wasn't bad as how it's today ,the Islamic school were sponsored by the state, local government, philanthropy of people who care.The schools were well maintained, well funded in every aspect of financial needs. Like in 50s those almajiris- students of that time were now well recognized personalities as today, I can remember my father once told me that final year Student has the opportunity to secure a job automatically as far as they are about to be graduated. Even to the minimum of a form six students wasn't left out. At that time things were going well and fine in Nigeria.
The present government of Muhammadu Buhari has been managing the Government occurrence he has tried and eradicate so many issue including poverty and beggers as promised in presidentialrally campaign to improve the lifestyles of poor citizens -still on-going on the ways to repare the subject of Almajiri and poverty as in whole. As he has already proposed and promised to give financial aid to to the indigents, this was carried out well- still most poor people in Nigeria were enable to get this help.

After time has pass , things get worse foe the schools, and for that case, hunger force the students out of their various islamic schools- to the streets begging. For a long time this system continues, static; many governments have came and gone all promise to take care of Street begging but all was in vein.
