A blog sidebar is a segment of your blog's layout.In a characteristic manner, blog
layouts sidebars varies from one, two or three depending on the templates ,Theme one chooses . Sidebars are narrow columns and can appear to the left, right, or wing on  the widest column in the blog
layout, where the blog post (blog page) content appears.

How to use sidebars

Blog sidebars are used for several purposes.such as: A place to put significant information for the visitors to have quick access to. Blog owner can easily customize sidebars to show the same information on every pages, posts layouts. The top of a sidebar (the display part which shows on ever pages the visitors clicks is referred to as being above the fold) it is crucial for one who wants to l monetise a blog .However, it's a good place to put critical information. Most likely visitors bother no to scroll down to see contents below for is less important .Preferably Place information, or other priceless contents on the top side bar.

Side bars should be attractive to the viewers.

A sidebars should not be a trash or messy with numerous irrelevant info,adsenses.But it should be tidy,understandable.

Fast way to promote one's blog contents.
 
Through the side bar, blogger can provide a Rss feeds on feeds readers so to invite subscribers to the blog.By customizing, it provides links to other social media platforms (facebook,twitter, linkedin) subscribers. 

Medium for remarks and complain

By allowing views to subscribe to the blog, this give way for comments, complaints on a specific post.

Means of advertisement. 

Blogger can advertise his/her contents, products ,channels and websites or other websites on side bars.

Be creative 

The sidebars gives more features to customize, configure so to apease the viewers. I recommend one should add few animations (gif) to display on sider bar.
